Portraits

Photographing people, taking informal portraits, and what is sometimes called 'lifestyle photography' is interesting in its unpredictability. There is technique, of course, and as a photographer, I feel as if I learn little by little from every single photo I take.
BUT, photos cannot be replicated and every time, we end up with results that are different, because our subjects make them unique that way. Photos that I end up liking the most, show a genuine aspect of the person and the moment, whether that be joy and happiness or tenderness shared between two people.

For Jessica and Sipho,
We had decided to go to Mintroom Studios downtown. The day of the shoot, Toronto had a huge snowstorm and it was memorable both inside and outside the studio!

Nav and Veneet had met and fallen in love in Toronto. Although they no longer live in the city, they wanted the city's skyline to be part of the memories that will be forever linked to their engagement.
We had a fun shoot by the Polson Pier before heading in to the Distillery District, another iconic Toronto place under our belt!

Autumn is, perhaps, my favourite season to photograph. The colours, the contrast they create and the variety, make for excellent photography outdoors.
With Mansi and Dhruvit, who were getting married in a few short months, we chose two locations that would best bring out all those lovely fall qualities; first, Toronto's Botanical Gardens (Edward Gardens), and second, Scarborough Bluffs.
